Dr. Khalid M. Alkhazraji
Dr. Khalid M. AlkhazrajiChairman
Dr. Khalid Alkhazraji holds extensive knowledge and experience in teaching, starting and managing entrepreneurial ventures. Aside from having been created several start-up businesses, currently he is an adjunct professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the MBA program at the UAE University and owner of a private business. He is also a board member at Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, University of Dubai, and Khaleeji Commercial Bank.
He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and his BS degree from the University of Miami in Florida (USA).
Dr. AlKhazraji served as a member of the judging committees of entrepreneurial awards and competitions such as Emirates Business Woman Award and Emirates Foundation Award for the Arabian Gulf Youth Entrepreneurs. He is a former Deputy Minister of Labor in the United Arab Emirates and the Director General of the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia). He started his career as an Assistant Professor of Management in the School Business and Economics at the UAE University. During his tenure at the University, he held several posts among them Chairman of the Department of Business Administration, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Economics, and a member of the University’s Supreme Council.
He served as a member of the board of directors in several government and private institutions and was the deputy chairman of Majid Al-Futtaim Retail which owns and operates several Carrefour stores in the GCC, Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa markets.
Christian Gregorowicz

Christian is a versatile, enterprising, resourceful professional with 26+ years of rich experience in the Insurance, Third Party Administration, IT and Financial Services industries across Europe and the Middle East & Africa. He has been working since 1999 in the Middle East & Africa regions and contributing to the establishment, management and upgrading of organization systems and technologies.
He has a proactive management style with strong creativity and leadership for delivering results in challenging environments and markets.
Christian’s aim is to continue managing the business by implementing strategies and plans for transforming and digitizing the experience and journey to both partners and customers, while providing quality assurance.
Hani H. Helou
Hani H. Helou Board Advisor
An internationally experienced finance professional with a career spanning over 30 years in external audit, financial control as well as establishing and leading the finance function. Core strengths include the design and implementation of corporate governance structures, planning & reporting frameworks, as well as performance measurement & improvement processes.
Leader of finance transformative initiatives including ERP implementations (in the Healthcare and Oil & Gas industries), financial modules re-implementation (in the financial services industry) and several operational restructurings aimed at cost optimization.
Participated in M&A activities with an instrumental role in the pre-deal stage (valuation, due diligence, assessment of synergies), deal and documentation stage as well as in the post-merger integration and quality improvement of financial reporting.

Dr Wael El-Afghani
Dr Wael El-AfghaniBoard Advisor
Dr Wael El-Afghani is a Prominent Consultant Prosthodontist, Implant Surgeon and Cosmetic Dentist. He brings with him over 21 years of healthcare experience, both in the UK and the Middle East. He is a Key Opinion Leader for the Middle East Region for both TG Medical UK and DMG Germany.
His current position is as the Head of the Dental Department at Taiba Hospital, a modern private 120 bed Hospital in the state of Kuwait. There he leads a large inter-disciplinary team of dentists, hygienists, nurses and support staff. He is also part of the senior management team and is heavily involved in the business side, and in overall healthcare strategy design and execution.
Before that he was Head of the Department at Quttainah Medical Centre and also at The New Mowasat Hospital, where he led a successful expansion and modernisation of both dental departments and introduced UK guidelines for standards of clinical care and implemented various quality control policies. He was also a key driving figure behind them gaining the international JCI accreditation and was a committee member.
Before that Dr Wael worked in the UK, in a number of prestigious central London private clinics and was also awarded the Dental Stars Trophy. He regularly returns to London to treat patients and currently splits his time working between Kuwait and the UK.
Dr Wael gained his Bachelor’s Degree from Kings College London and then moved on to complete his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and then his Master’s Degree from the Eastman Hospital at University College London. He subsequently completed his Healthcare Management Certificate from INSEAD and is completing his Executive Master of Business Administration from IMD Business School.
Basem Abu Dagga

Basem brings over two decades of International exposure in Investments and Operations in diverse Industries and has developed a solid experience advising on strategic growth opportunities across the region. He has participated in raising capital, setting up JVs, developing and executing projects in Education, Healthcare, and Real Estate. Basem has a strong technical background stemming from his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with Strategy and Finance acquired through his Master’s In Business Administration from The London Business School.

He is a strong believer that life is what you make out of it and you must make every day count.

Bassam Elshorafa
Bassam ElshorafaOperations Executive
Bassam Elshorafa is the Operations Executive at The Healthcare Network and is responsible for managing the network’s daily activities.
He holds degrees in Sciences and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and has consulted at PwC prior to joining THN.
Sanjay Khetrapal
Sanjay KhetrapalFinance Executive
Sanjay Khetrapal qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 and since then has been involved in various finance roles in the Middle East. He is the founder and director of ACCVAT Tax Consultancy which he established to cater to the growth experienced in the ME region.
He commenced his career with the BIG FOUR (E&Y) and over a career spanning 20 years he was the head of the finance function for Smith Intl/Schlumberger, which included the Middle East, Africa and the Caspian geographies.
Sanjay combined his wide and varied experience with the understanding that financial roles have evolved, and competent finance personnel need to work together with businesses (Start-ups, SMEs, Medium-sized businesses or Multi-nationals) and be at the forefront of every strategic decision made.
